Dreadmoor Multiplayer? Single-Player Only
Dreadmoor is single-player only — no co-op or multiplayer, confirmed by Steam listing, the developer FAQ and a September 2026 developer reply.
Last updated: September 25, 2026
Dreadmoor is a single-player only game. There is no multiplayer, no co-op, and no online mode — and unlike most "no" answers in gaming, this one comes from three independent official places.
The three official confirmations
- The Steam listing categorizes Dreadmoor as Single-player, with no multiplayer category of any kind (verified in the store data on September 25, 2026).
- The developer FAQ answers the question in one sentence: "DREADMOOR is a single-player only game."
- The developers themselves, asked about online or local co-op on Reddit in September 2026, explained why it will not happen:
"Unfortunately not, we have given it consideration, but, as the game quite story driven (with some degree of freedom of course), having an mp/co-op mode would end up making the game much worse (or would need a big redesign of how the game is being built)."
That is a design decision, not a resource problem: Dreadmoor is built as a story-driven solo journey, and bolting on co-op would require rebuilding how the game works.
What this means for you
- Plan for a solo experience — one trawler, one fisher, one story. Fishing, crafting, boat upgrades, and combat are all designed around a single player (game overview).
- No shared saves or servers — nothing to configure, and no risk of server shutdown affecting the game later.
- Community is outside the game — the official Discord and the r/DreadmoorGame subreddit are where the (very active) community shares catches and build talk. Co-op requests come up there regularly, and the developers have read them — the September answer above is the response.
If that ever changes, it would be big news on the official channels first. Until then, every system described on this site — from the fishing guide to boat upgrades — is a single-player system.
